Description

4 part series, filmed as part of the Implants in the Aesthetic Zone Masterclass with the QMUL faculty in November 2015, with Dr. Shakeel Shahdad (UK and Ireland ITI chair), Dr. Mital Patel, Dr. Nikos Mardas and Dr. Claudia Wellman.

Planning and extraction - Dr. Mital Patel

Dr. Mital Patel demonstrates the extraction technique used to atraumatically extract an upper central incisor and the planning stages for placing a dental implant, in the high critical aesthetic zone.

Aims and objectives:

  • Demonstration of the technique used to atraumatically extract an upper central incisor
  • The planning stages for placing a dental implant in the high critical aesthetic zone

Live surgery - Dr. Shakeel Shahdad

Live surgery of the implant placement. Here Dr. Shahdad, via commentary, shows how he places the implant in the aesthetic zone, including the critical factors of flap design to minimise recession and scarring, the critical factors for the optimal 3-dimensional placement of the implant, and the important tips in ensure a successful GBR procedure.

Aims and objectives:

  • Live surgery of the implant placement
  • Critical factors in flap design to minimise recession and scarring
  • Critical factors for the optimal 3-dimensional placement of the implant
  • Important tips for ensuring a successful GBR procedure

Guided bone regeneration and flap design techniques - Dr. Nikos Mardas

Dr. Nikos Mardas demonstrates the technique of flap design and GBR techniques which are very useful for all implant placements.

Aims and objectives:

  • Demonstration of the technique of flap design and GBR techniques

Immediate provisionalisation - Dr. Claudia Wellman

Dr. Claudia Wellman provides excellent tips and a practical demonstration on how to achieve optimal provisional restorations, for your implants, in the aesthetic zone. Optimal provisional restorations result in excellent soft tissue and emergence profiles, and the lessons learnt in this video will be of maximum benefit to all practitioners placing implants in the aesthetic zone.

Aims and objectives:

  • Practical demonstration of how to achieve optimal provisional restorations for your implants in the aesthetic zone
