Welcome to this series on periodontal-prosthodontic connections. Inter-disciplinary treatment and working together as a team are important to achieve the desired patient outcomes.

The presenters of this series are
Dr. Boota Singh Ubhi, a specialist periodontist and clinical director of Birmingham Periodontal and Implant Centre (more popularly known as BPI) and Dr. Gurvinder Bhirth, who has a keen interest in restorative dentistry.

Boota and Gurvinder did the periodontal-prosthodontic connection at BPI for many years. They worked as a team together at the same practice for nearly a decade. They share cases and practice interdisciplinary treatments regularly and run their own courses.

Part 2. The role of root coverage and perioplastic surgery in perio-prostho consideration.

Aims:

Discuss and identify the role of periodontal plastic surgery in restorative dentistry and recognise which procedures to use in treatment

  • Discuss the ways to manage recession defects and state what factors to consider in choosing the appropriate procedures
