What will you be reaching for when amalgam is no longer available?
The hard stop on the use of dental amalgam in the EU by 1 January 2025 - some five years earlier than expected – has added new impetus to finding viable mercury-free alternatives in restorative dentistry.
Despite the UK no longer being a part of the EU, this phase-out of amalgam will still have a significant effect on UK dentistry. The good news is that GC has long been pioneering new materials to rival amalgam within 3 product groups. It just depends on the specifics of the case in hand as to which product group offers the ideal solution.
- Glass hybrids including EQUIA Forte HT for fast and easy placement, moisture tolerance and proven longevity.
- Injectable composite G-ænial Universal Injectable with exceptional strength, high wear resistance and excellent polishability and aesthetics.
- Fibre-reinforced composites including everX Flow and everX Posterior, the strongest of short-fibre dentine reinforcement materials with superior fracture toughness that are ideal for even the largest of cavities.
