Aims - To develop practical and theoretical skills in the management of child and adult patients presenting with medical emergencies and systemic diseases affecting dental care.
By the end of this session practitioners should be able:
• to perform basic life support on an adult patient using appropriate airway adjuncts
• to discuss the systemic diseases that may affect dental care and how these may be managed
• to recognise and manage emergency situations that may present in practice
• to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
