Course Overview

To satisfy increasing patient demand for whiter smiles, the #whiteology approach has been designed to help restore healthy smiles in every day practice; accredited by the StyleItaliano leaders.

The aim of the StyleItaliano Direct Workflow course is to allow you to optimise your patient strategies for success in single session, incorporating both theory and hands-on learning elements. 

Speaker Biography

About the course leader, Monaldo Saracinelli

Monaldo Saracinelli lectures on direct and indirect aesthetic composite restorations in anterior and posterior teeth in Italy and abroad.

He was a student of Prof. Fabio Toffenetti and Riccardo Garberoglio and became student trainer in Conservative Dentistry at the Instituto Policattedra di Discipline Odontostomatologiche Università degli Studi Di Siena” in 1986. He then took on the role of teaching dental technicians on the subject of Biomeccanica masticatoria e Protesi applicate.

He has been an active member of the Accademia Italiana di Conservativa (AIC) since 2005 and of the Italian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (IAED) since 2011.


This hands-on course will guide you through the ideal approach to these predictable and repeatable, smile enhancing treatments. The days schedule is as follows:

8:30 -9:30 – Registration

9:30 -11:00 – Morning lecture covering the following subjects:

• The Secrets of colour: colour matching in dentistry, composite shade guides, colour and optical properties, how to detect the colour (polarized lamps, custom shade guide). The MDP

• Whiteology and the ABC rule, a new mental evolution trend

• Preparation guidelines

• New adhesive approach techniques in modern dentistry

• Shape: palatal, silicon keys, direct mock up and wax up

• Interproximal, how to exploit the new Unica matrix system

• Layering technique; opacity selection: veneering restorations (which masses to choose?)

11:00 -11:30 – Break

11:30 -13:00 – Resumed morning lecture, covering the following subjects:

• Single or dual layer?

• How to manage the dark, camouflaging the shade of the tooth and providing a neutral base for immediate restorative work

• Morphology and shape; primary, secondary and tertiary anatomy (the concept and the instrumentation technique)

• Polishing effectively in a few steps: the ultimate techniques, instruments sequence

• Simplified layering techniques in posteriors. Fast modelling technique

13:00 -14:00 – Lunch

14:00 -15:30 – Afternoon: hands-on workshop on models - anteriors

• Preparation techniques

• How to insert and manage Unica matrix. A predictable shape in a single step

• Adhesion steps

• Layer thickness management

• Use of flowables

• Finishing and polishing for a shiny smile

15:30 -16:00 – Break

16:00 -17:00 – Afternoon: hands-on workshop on models - posteriors

• Preparation techniques

• Adhesion steps

• Fast modelling technique
