Minimal Intervention, MI for short, is one of those buzz phrases in dentistry that rather like the word “nano” has been applied to just about everything. There seems little doubt that the MI approach, when applied to dental, caries can provide a practical long-term solution that combines prevention and restoration with the objective of removing carious damage in the least invasive manner. However, these newer techniques and procedures can be demanding and technique sensitive when compared with traditional amalgams and cast restorations.

Ian will discuss the demands of MI by using a series of case slides and will further illustrate how practitioners can integrate the latest materials and equipment into their practice.
