The aim of this video is to show the learner a step by step practical approach to transporting, decontaminating, sterilising, and bagging of instruments that have been used for sterile surgery, including:

• Learn how to disinfect and prepare instruments for transportation to decontamination
• Learn the cleaning and decontamination process
• Learn how to effectively use the ultrasonic bath
• Learn how to inspect instruments before the sterilisation process
• Learn how to prepare and place instruments in autoclaves for sterilisation. Both vacuum and steam autoclaves are covered
• Learn how to bag instruments ready for use again

By the end of this video the learner will be more confident in following the steps to transport, disinfect, sterilise, and bag surgical instruments for use.
