Aims and Objectives:

  • Two techniques for recording the impression of the edentulous lower jaw. The admixed technique described by McCord and Tyson in 1997 and functional impression technique.
  • Understand the anatomy related to the lower edentulous area.
  • How to mould and soften the impression compound prior to the initial impression.
  • Demonstration of the special tray and the special tray upper impression using the AdMix technique.
  • Demonstration of the functional impression from the base, recording the movement of the lips and other soft tissues.
