Aims and objectives:

Gain an overview of paediatric dentistry for revision, taking into consideration:

  • Common issues and concepts within paediatric dentistry, applicable to general dental practice
  • Information that is relevant and pertinent to that of a safe and competent final year dental student, with respect to paediatric dentistry
  • Understand caries risk assessment, diagnosis and treatment options for paediatric dental patients
  • The importance of the evidence-based management of dental trauma in kids
  • The importance of both behaviour and safeguarding in the management of children
  • Understand the basic management of common dental anomalies within the paediatric dental population
  • The importance of medical history in the dental treatment of children
